The History (E-bike round Arthur's Seat)

We cycle through the Victorian railway tunnel and up into Holyrood Park. Stop for a photo of Arthur’s Seat, Salisbury Crags and Edinburgh Castle. We then enjoy a lovely sweeping downhill ride to Holyrood Palace and Scottish Parliament. We then continue round Arthur’s Seat for the most stunning views. We then finish our tour at Craigmillar Castle - to visit this important location of Mary Queen of Scots and of course, Outlander.

FAQ

  • This is our shortest tour and we use e-bikes so it is an easy ride. It is nearly all on cycle paths with one short stretch of side road.

  • Holyrood Park is packed with history from a 350 million year volcano to a new parliament building. We e-bike up Athur’s Seat and, weather-permitting, we will get great 360 degree views of Edinburgh and its surroundings, including the coast and the Pentland Hills.

  • This is our shortest route so we don’t usually stop for refreshments.

  • Depending on the time of year it can be windy around Arthur’s Seat so it maybe worth having an extra layer if you feel the cold.

  • We are lucky to live in beautiful Scotland so the weather is changeable. We go ahead rain or shine. The only reason we cancel for bad weather is if it poses a risk to our guests and guides and if there is a weather warning issued by the 'Met office'. Please wear weather appropriate clothing.
